I'm kicking off this blog with a post about one of my favorite places: Greece.
Back in May of this year, I had the absolute privilege of visiting Athens and nearby Greek islands on an educational trip with my school. Talk about a good week! Ever since I returned from my cruise trip, I have not stopped dreaming about what I did there, what I saw, what I ate, who I met....it was the most amazing journey I have ever been on. It is my dream to go back there someday. This post will only cover Athens, but the rest of the adventure will come in bits and pieces.

Oh, the Parthenon was everything. If there is ONE moment that touched me the most during the trip, it was this. It was seeing the beautiful monument. It was feeling the same wave of sublimity that I felt at the Temple of Zeus, but a thousand times greater. There were tears. It was amazing.
The day ended with a rooftop sunset viewing party. We watched as the sky transformed from a gorgeous blue, to gray, then to this beautiful pink. Music was playing...people were laughing...the sun was setting...it was the best way to end our spectacular day. The girls and I stayed on the roof till 11 pm, where we sang our hearts out and laughed our heads off for as long as our energy would allow.
I could not have asked for a better way to enjoy the beauty that Athens is. Of course, we still had many more islands to go, but if there was only one place that I could revisit from our trip, it would be Athens.
Not just the Temple of Zeus. Not only the Parthenon. It's the entire Athens and everything that makes her who she is.
