I still remember reading a magazine a few years back and seeing in the "Celebrity News" section that Isla Fisher had named her daughter Elula.
It clicked. I loved it instantly, and still do today.
Elula Mae.
Ah, this name.

I've heard of this name since a while back, but didn't genuinely consider it until recently.
It's rare. It's edgy. But it's beautiful. Soren Jack. Short and sweet, I first saw this name a couple weeks ago on an Instagram post and instantly liked it. It's very close to one of my guilty pleasure names, Nova, and I love the character Nola has.
Nola Kate. Lila has been on my list since forever.
I've been through phases of loving it, not liking it, being okay with it, and loving it all over again. Who knows how long I'll love it this time, but I sure hope it lasts. Lila Mae. "I’ve learned over the years that if you try hard to make yourself happy, then you will end up being less happy than you were when you started. This is because you have preconceived notions about what happiness should look like. You have your ideas of what being happy is. You have your expectations. And naturally, as humans, we are never a hundred percent satisfied before new expectations pop up. Thus the cycle begins again. Why can’t we learn to take happiness and blessings as they come instead? These spontaneous little things are far more satisfying than presupposed, planned attempts at finding bliss. You don’t expect them to come. You don’t have criterions that they’re suppose to meet up to. You don’t have a checklist of things these occurrences are supposed to be like. What you do have is happiness, and isn’t that what you were looking for in the first place?"
I wrote this as I was brainstorming ideas for the mini-speech I have to give at fellowship tomorrow. It's not perfect or complete, but these are my realizations. It's in the little things. You don't have to fervently search for happiness; it's already there for you. Okay, okay. I'll admit that I didn't fall in love with this name until I watched "The Fault in Our Stars."
Now, don't go eye rolling at me. It's actually a beautiful name. I love it. It's so mild. So gentle. So sweet. But so very handsome. Ansel Jace. Ansel Jack. Ansel Finley. Ansel Emory. Ansel Bradley. Ansel Presley. I could go on and on. Valentina has always been on my name watch.
It's one of those names where you can't decide if you should use or not. It seems so fancy. So substantial. I have, however, come to love that. It is too beautiful of a name to pass up. Valentina Mae. Stella has only recently made its way up my list.
Slow and steady wins the race, my friend. It's obviously very popular, and similar to Ryan, I've always been around/known a Stella. But that does not change the fact that it will be the name of my daughter, if I end up having daughters. Stella Rose. Ryan is a name I've seen all my life. There's always been a kid nearby named Ryan, always yet another person on TV named Ryan. There's an endless line of Ryans.
However, the name's popularity has not changed the fact that I love the name. Like Emilia, it's strong. It's bold. And of course, it's masculine. Ryan Sean. This name hasn't been on my list for too long, and I'm starting to fall out of the obsession phase. However, it is still a beautiful name nonetheless.
It's classy, graceful, strong, bold, and not too common. I love it. One thing though: I can't seem to stop coming up with nicknames. Millie. Emi. Emilia Rae. |
DiaryI have random thoughts sometimes. This is a place to write them down. And most of these thoughts are highly likely to run along the lines of my dreams about the future. Archives
